Former Arizona Congresswoman and gun violence prevention advocate Gabby Giffords is scheduled to attend a town hall meeting Saturday in Waconia in neighboring Carver County.

Giffords will join Governor Tim Walz, as well as elected officials, gun safety organizations, doctors, educators, and survivors.
You may recall that Giffords survived an assassination attempt and mass shooting in Arizona in 2011. She resigned from the U-S House due to a severe brain injury.
The town hall is expected to include input on action from residents of the region with examples of action in community safety.
The event is scheduled to begin at 3 PM at a location to be announced.
