Fraud Awareness Seminar in Buffalo Thursday

Crimes related to identity theft, fraud, scams and financial exploitation are on the rise throughout the state and here in Wright County.

To help inform the public on the many forms of scams and fraud schemes that are out there, the Buffalo Police will be hosting a Fraud Awareness Seminar in Buffalo Thursday morning.

The informational session is designed to empower the public to help avoid becoming a victim.

Lisa Lovering, the Minnesota Department of Commerce’s Financial Exploitation Investigator and an industry expert on fraudulent activity will be a guest speaker, along with Buffalo PD Detective Sergeant Mark Brown.

The seminar will run from 11 AM to 12 noon Thursday, May 29th at the Buffalo City Council Chambers, and is a collaborative effort of the Buffalo PD and SouthPoint Financial Credit Union.
