Funeral Mass Saturday for Longtime Wright County Businessman, Tom Paumen

Friends, family and colleagues will remember a longtime Wright County businessman at a funeral Mass on Saturday in Buffalo.

Thomas “Tom” Paumen passed away April 6th at his home at the age of 84.

Tom grew up on the family farm in rural Maple Lake, and was a 1958 graduate of Maple Lake High School. He was a veteran of the U-S Army and Army Reserves.

Following his military service, he worked at a number of companies before getting into the metal stamping industry. He started his own stamping company, Hamel Stamping in 1972 along with a brother. After becoming sole owner, Tom expanded the company, changing its name to HSI Metal Stamping, and re-located to Loretto in 1980, where the company remained until 1997.

During this time, Tom and his wife, Linda raised their family in Loretto, where Tom was very active with the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. He also was a former President, Vice President and Zone Chaiman for the Loretto Lions.

In 1997, HSI Metal Stamping grew again, and moved to Buffalo, where it continues to operate today.

The funeral Mass for Tom Paumen will be held Saturday at 11 AM at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Buffalo.

In honor of Tom’s legacy, HSI has announced that it has established the Thomas J. Paumen Memorial Scholarship that will be given annually to a student studying the Tool and Die/Machine trades.
