A young man from Kimball will be remembered at funeral services Thursday after being involved in a fatal traffic crash near Cokato a week ago.
Payton Hanan, 26 of Kimball died as a result of injuries he sustained in a crash April 30th in Stockholm Township.
The Wright County Sheriff’s Office reports that around 3:45 that afternoon (April 30), deputies were dispatched to the crash scene. Authorities say evidence from the scene indicate that Hanan’s passenger car that was northbound on County Road 3 apparently crossed over into the southbound lane where it collided with a southbound Chevrolet pickup. Officials say both vehicles were found with heavy front-end damage.
Hanan was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, while the driver of the pickup, 53-year-old Dale Worm of Dassel was initially transported to the Hutchinson Hospital, and was later airlifted to the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. The Cokato Fire Department and Ambulance, Howard Lake Ambulance, and Allina Ambulance assisted the Wright County Sheriff’s Office.
Payton Hanan grew up in the Kimball area and was a 2017 graduate of Kimball High School. He continued his education at Ridgewater College in Willmar and went on to become an Electrical Journeyman with NEI Electric in St. Paul.
