Funeral Services Today (Monday) for Annandale Resident, Community Volunteer Ed Skomoroh

Funeral services are scheduled for today (Monday) for a longtime Annandale area resident and community volunteer, and former snowmobile industry executive, Ed Skomoroh. Ed passed away October 28th at the age of 87.

Ed was born in Arborg, Manitoba, Canada, and graduated from Dryden High School in Canada in 1956.

His working career began at his father’s automotive business, Skomoroh Motors, and branched off into a Shell Oil Bulk Distribution company. Ed would later join Arctic Cat, where he served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing and General Manager for Canada from 1970 to 1982. From there, Ed’s professional journey culminated at Polaris where he held the title of President in Canada, and Corporate Vice President of Sales and Marketing worldwide until his retirement in 2002. During this time, he also earned a degree in Advance Business Management from Harvard University.

In his retirement years, Ed and his wife, Jean settled at Cedar Lake in Annandale. He volunteered in many areas including the Annandale Food Shelf where he served for several years as President. He was also an active member of Annandale Health and Community Services, Minnesota Pioneer Park, and the Bethlehem United Church of Christ.

Through the years, he maintained his passion for snowmobiling, and was inducted into the International Snowmobile Hall of Fame.

Funeral services for Ed Skomoroh will be held today at the Bethlehem United Church of Christ of Maple Lake. Memorials are preferred to the Annandale Food Shelf.
