Funeral services are scheduled for today (Thursday) for a life-long area resident, and well-known farmer, civic leader and elected official.
Dennis Beise passed away June 20th at the age of 90.
Dennis graduated from Buffalo High School in 1953. He and his wife, Janet, raised their five sons on their farm in rural Delano.
Dennis was a celebrated individual in Wright County. He was a proud farmer for his entire life. He was one of the founding members of the Rockets 4-H Club in the early 1940s, and continued to serve as a 4-H adult leader for many years. Dennis was given the Outstanding Young Farmer award in 1970. In 2009, he received the Minnesota Fair Person of the Year award, and in 2016 he was awarded the Minnesota State Fair 50-Year Award for his decades of showing hogs.
Many people will remember Dennis as one of the founding members of the Wright County Pork Producers where he became a familiar face behind the grill flipping thousands of pork chops at fairs and community events.
In addition to his many achievements surrounding agriculture, he was also deeply committed to his community. He was elected as a supervisor on the Rockford Township Board, and continued to serve for more than 50 years. He also was a dedicated member of the Wright County Fair Board for 51 years.

Dennis was also honored with the Commodore’s Award for dedicated volunteer service and community involvement from the Minneapolis Aquatennial.
He was also an active, lifelong member of the Cross Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rockford where he served as a past elder, and where his funeral services are scheduled to be held today (Thursday).
In lieu of flowers, memorials for Dennis Beise are preferred to the Kidney Foundation.
