The heavy rain early Wednesday afternoon flooded a parking area at the Wright County Fair, and caused some cancellations of events.
Rain flooded a low portion of a special parking area generally dedicated to handicap and vendor parking outside the sheep barn, and near the hoop building on the fairgrounds. Officials believe the water will recede as drier, sunnier weather is expected the rest of the week.

The heavy rain also caused the cancellation of the MotoKazie grandstand show Wednesday night, as well as some 4-H horse events.
Once the rains ended in the mid-afternoon, most of the Wright County Fair events were able to continue as scheduled.
