Senator Michael Holmstrom recently announced his bonding priorities for the 2026 legislative session.
The package totals some $37.5 million dollars in requested funds for critical infrastructure and education projects in Senate District 29.
Among Holmstrom’s bonding bill requests are 10 million dollars to the City of Monticello for construction of a new water treatment facility, 15 million dollars for the City of Howard Lake for a new water treatment facility and other long-standing infrastructure needs, 2 million dollars to the City of Rockford for design and construction of improvements to the city’s existing wastewater treatment facility, and 10.5 million dollars to the update aging facilities at the Wright Technical Center in Buffalo.
Holmstrom said in a news release that he believes the projects he outlined are critical infrastructure projects that benefit the families of the Senate District, and help the local economy. The GOP Senator from Buffalo said he hopes the DFL doesn’t load up any bonding proposals with, in his words, “pet projects such as entertainment and recreation venues.”
Bonding requests will be considered as a part of the broader capital investment bill during the 2026 session.
