The Minnesota Department of Transportation says significant changes will begin to be seen this weekend in the area of the I-94 gap project between Monticello and Albertville.
Work began April 7th during overnight hours for crews to set up the work zone, including installation of concrete barriers.
According to MnDOT’s project website, two-lane traffic each way will be diverted to the eastbound lanes of traffic beginning Monday, April 14. Expansion of the westbound lanes of traffic will take place in mid-November. Officials say the project will shift the expansion of the eastbound lanes in the spring of 2026.
