June Dairy Month continues here in Wright County with a popular event that has turned into a yearly part of dairy month activities.
Saturday, the Wright and Carver County chapters of the American Dairy Association and Midwest Dairy will present the annual “Breakfast on the Farm,” this year returning to the Diers Family Farm near Waverly. The farm is celebrating its sesquicentennial year, marking 150 years of continuous family ownership and working of the farm, which today combines dairy production, and crop farming, mainly for feeding the animals.
Wright County Dairy Princess and Princess Kay of the Milky Way finalist for this year, Malorie Thorson, is a part of the host family for 2025. She says there will be lots to do for young and old alike…
“Baby calves…number one. You’re going to see cute animals, kids will probably just absolutely get a kick out of it. They will love it, and it will make for great photo-ops. You’ll also be able to get a better idea of what the dairy industry does on a daily basis.”

Malorie says visitors can enjoy the annual free pancake breakfast, plus plenty of free, delicious samples…
“We have free ice cream, all-you-can eat. There’ll also be meat samples, cheese samples, and of course all-you-can-drink milk. There will also be machinery so kids can go in and pretend to drive.”
The event is designed to show visitors to the farm all that goes into producing healthy, wholesome dairy products.

Admission is free for all of the exhibits and tours on the farm. The breakfast, featuring fresh pancakes and all the fixings will be served from 7 AM to 12 noon. The breakfast is free, but visitors may make a free-will offering if they wish too.
Continuous shuttle buses will run to and from the farm from the Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted High School.
