As the weather warms up, the road construction season is beginning to gear up, and a major project on a heavily used highway in our area will cause some traffic adjustment for a period of up to six months.
Drivers who use Highway 55 in Annandale are being alerted to a major project on a 1.4 mile segment of the highway that will require detours, and a lot of patience beginning next month.
MnDOT says the project will include an asphalt reconstruction, underground utility replacement, updating the signal light system, road realignment, installation of flashing pedestrian crosswalk signals, sidewalk work and updating street lighting.
The detour around the work area will include CSAH 3, CSAH 39, State Highway 24 and CSAH 6. Officials expect the work to begin in mid-April, and wrap up in mid-October.

A pre-construction open house to lay out details of the project and to answer questions will be held Thursday, April 3rd from 4:30 to 7 PM at the Annandale City Hall. (30 Cedar Street East).
