Minnesota’s firearms deer hunting season kicks off Saturday, and the DNR wants to make sure sportspersons are well prepared.

DNR Commissioner Sarah Strommen says hunters should be up to date on hunting regulations…

Regulations are important not just from a following the law and an enforcement standpoint, but they’re there in order to protect and conserve the resource. In this case, dear, the best resource is always the regulations. Both. That is where everything is contained.”

Strommen says there’s one significant change to remember about the 2025 deer season…

There is now one statewide season, so if you formerly hunted the A season or the B season now, there is just one statewide season and your license is good for both of those formerly known as seasons.”

Strommen says the DNR has sold nearly 200 thousand licenses for this season. More info can be found on the DNR’s website at; www.dnr.state.mn.us.
