Minnesota Republicans with the House Fraud Prevention Committee gave testimony in front of the U-S House Oversight Committee in the nation’s capitol Wednesday.
Republican Congressman Byron Donalds of Florida asked Minnesota State Representative Kristin Robbins about fraud dollars going to fund terrorism…
“(Donalds) Taxpayer money, United States dollars, that are being remitted in Somalia in part have been utilized or have fell into the hands of Al-Shabaab, do you think that is a correct assessment? (Robbins) Yes, we have plenty of evidence of that from money going directly to Al-Shabaab but then also indirectly because they take a cut of whatever gets sent to Somalia.”
Meanwhile, Congressional Democrats in the hearing said this is not just a Minnesota problem, and President Trump should also be blamed for various types of fraud in the U-S.
State Representatives Marion Rarick of Maple Lake and Walter Hudson of Albertville, both members of the Minnesota House Fraud Prevention Committee also gave testimony.
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and State Attorney General Keith Ellison have been asked to, but thus far have not been subpoenaed to give testimony in front of the committee in later sessions in February.
