The 2025 “State of Tobacco Control” report shows Minnesota has some work to do.
American Lung Association Minnesota spokeswoman Pat McKone says the state’s smoke-free air law and our access to help people with cessation services both get an “A”, there is also much room for improvement…
“One of them is about the funding that’s dedicated to the program for prevention and control. And flavored commercial tobacco products. They both have failing grades of “F”.
McKone says if Minnesota would end the sale of all flavored commercial tobacco products, including menthol cigarettes, estimates show that will not only would it reduce youth tobacco use, it would also address health disparities.
