A local woman was injured over the weekend when her vehicle struck a deer in Hubbard County in north central Minnesota.
The State Patrol reports that around 11 o’clock Sunday morning, a Chevy Colorado pickup was northbound on Highway 64 in Akeley Township, just south of the City of Akeley. Officials say a deer came out of the east ditch and was struck head-on by the truck.
The driver of the pickup, 50-year-old Jennifer Banister of Monticello sustained non-life threatening injuries in the crash, and was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Park Rapids for treatment.
The Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office and North Ambulance assisted the State Patrol at the scene.
