More Than 2,100 Impaired Driving Arrests in MN Over the Holidays

The Minnesota Office of Traffic Safety reports that law enforcement officers from nearly 300 Minnesota agencies made 21 hundred and 70 DWI arrests during the statewide impaired driving enforcement campaign from November 26th through December 31st.

Over 20 agencies reported stops involving drivers who had a blood alcohol level of more than .30, more than three times the legal limit for operating a motor vehicle.

The Minnesota State Patrol’s west metro division made 207 impaired driving arrests during the holiday safety enforcement campaign. Locally, the Wright County Sheriff’s Office made 41 DWI arrests including one driver who tested with a blood alcohol level of .38.

The Winsted-Lester Prairie Police Department reported a DWI arrest where the driver tested at .40.

One of the many alarming arrests during the holiday impaired driving crackdown was made by St. Paul Police who arrested a driver with a blood alcohol concentration of .12 while driving on the Holman Field Airport runway. Authorities said the driver didn’t even know he was on the runway.
