Multiple fire departments were called to a structure fire late this morning (Thursday) in the City of Waverly.
Eyewitness accounts indicate that a large warehouse type structure just off Highway 12 in Waverly was involved in the active blaze. The location of the building is said to be directly behind the building which once housed Eddie’s Ford, on Highway 12.
Highway 12 was closed off to thru traffic between 6th Street South and 1st Street South, and motorists were being detoured both west and east of Waverly.
Very little information is available. There is no report yet on whether or not there are any injuries involved, but officials say at least 4 fire departments were called to the scene.
