One driver was injured Thursday afternoon in a three-vehicle crash in Franklin Township.

The State Patrol reports that shortly after 4 PM Thursday, a compact SUV was sandwiched between two pickup trucks at the intersection of State Highway 25 and U-S Highway 12.

Authorities say a Ford F-350 pickup and a Kia Sportage SUV were stopped at the intersection, when a third vehicle, a Chevy Silverado pickup rear-ended the Kia SUV, pushing it forward into the Ford pickup.

The driver of the SUV, 47-year-old Sara Nelson of Cokato sustained serious, but non-life threatening injuries in the crash. She was transported to the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis for treatment.

The driver of the Ford pickup, a 31-year-old man from Monroe, Washington, and the driver of the Chevy pickup, 23-year-old Evan Duske of Montrose, were not injured.

The Wright County Sheriff’s Office, Montrose Fire Department, and Ridgeview Ambulance assisted at the scene.
