Some scattered slipperiness on I-94 early Thursday morning apparently played a part in a four-vehicle pileup that left one driver injured.

The Minnesota State Patrol reports that around 5:45 AM Thursday, two semi-trucks, a pickup, and a passenger car collided in the eastbound lanes of the freeway in Monticello Township.

Authorities say the driver of the passenger car, 22-year-old Khatra Abdi of St. Cloud, sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to the St. Cloud Hospital.

The drivers of the two semis, a 58-year-old man from Bismark, North Dakota, and a 56-year-old man from St. Cloud were not injured. The driver of the pickup truck, 36-year-old Jeremy Elkjer of Cold Spring, also escaped injury.

The Wright County Sheriff’s Office, Monticello Fire Department, and CentraCare Ambulance all assisted State Troopers at the scene.
