The Republican race for governor in Minnesota is looking a little different just over a week after the precinct caucuses.
Carleton College political analyst Steven Schier says we’ve lost a few GOP candidates…
“No I think the straw poll basically ended a bunch of campaigns and Scott Jensen’s was one of them. I think it’s probably a three-person race now between (Kendall) Qualls, (Mike) Lindell, and (Lisa) Demuth.”
Scott Jensen announced earlier this week that he was dropping out of the race for governor, and instead he will run for state auditor.
Dr. Jeff Johnson also has dropped out of the GOP gubernatorial race after the violent death of his daughter in St. Cloud Saturday evening. The Minnesota Republican Party is asking all Minnesotans to “…join in lifting up the Johnson family during this incredibly painful time.”
The Republican Party State Convention will be held in Duluth the last weekend in May.
