Wright County officials are reminding residents that the Wright County Compost & Recycling Facility on County Road 37 NE in Buffalo will be closed to the public starting Friday, April 18th due to construction activities on the site.
Limited operations will resume Tuesday, April 29 at a temporary location at 5538 85th St. NW in Maple Lake, until construction activities are complete.
During this transition and construction period, some services will not be available. These services may change as space at the temporary location becomes available. Effective April 29, when operations resume at the temporary location. Acceptable items will include household hazardous waste such as paints, stains, and chemicals, curbside recycling, sharps, and yard waste.
Items that will not be accepted beginning April 29th include: tires, scrap metal, appliances, electronics, batteries, styrofoam, TVs, and large size or quantities of cardboard. The collection of some of these items may resume in the the weeks ahead.
Another change is that starting April 29th and until further notice, appointments at the temporary location will not be required.
