Many sportspersons in Minnesota are now counting down the hours to Saturday’s fishing opener.
Minnesota DNR Commissioner Sarah Strommen says the anticipation is part of the excitement of the opener…
“Get outside, breathe some fresh air, de-stress, do some activity, and so I think there are a lot of people looking forward to the fishing opener this year.”
State officials predict that half a million anglers will fish Minnesota’s 10,000 lakes throughout this year’s opening weekend.
The 77th Annual Governor’s Fishing Opener is happening this weekend in the Crosslake area. It’s the first time the governor’s opener has been held at Crosslake.
