Seniors Day and Demolition Derby on Day 3 of 2025 Wright County Fair

It’s day 3 of the 2025 Wright County Fair.

A 4-H horse show and more livestock judging will take place today. Classes will also be held in the one-room Historic Welker School.

Today is Senior Citizen Day, all seniors 60 and older get free admission until 1 PM. All seniors are invited for a lunch in the Hoop Building followed by the program on the Barnyard Stage. This year’s Wright County Outstanding Seniors are expected to be present. The Outstanding Seniors program recognizes the value of the senior citizen population for the communities they give back to. Seniors are nominated by other members of the community for their leadership, diversity of accomplishments and variety of services performed. Only volunteer activities after the age of 65 are considered.

Other activities include a kids’ coin scramble, a drawing for 2 kids bikes on the midway for those who purchased armbands, and the KRWC Road Show at 5 PM.

Red Dot Garage” will be featured in the entertainment tent from 1:30 to 5:30, followed by “The Shane Martin Band” in the tent from 8 to midnight. “Chopper the World’s Nuttiest DJ” will be on the Barnyard Stage from 2 to 6 PM, and tonight in the grandstand it’s the first of two big weekend demolition derbies.

Other events run throughout the fair including the All-American Lumberjacks Show, the Firefighter Training Show, the Jurassic Kingdom Dinosaur Show, the Ninja Experience, the exotic animal zoo, the FFA Agricultural Learning Center, and bingo.
