Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office Alerts Residents to Scam Circulating in the Area

The Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office is alerting the public to another scam scenario that is circulating through our region.

Officials say county residents in parts of Sherburne County have reported receiving phone calls from people impersonating Sherburne County deputies and claiming that the resident has outstanding warrants or a fine to pay.

The caller instructs the person to pay a fine to clear up the matter. Authorities say this is definitely a scam.

Officials say law enforcement won’t call and demand payment for warrants or fines. If you get such a call, you’re advised to hang up. If you fall victim to the scam, report it immediately to law enforcement.
