The Wright County Sheriff’s Department continues to investigate a domestic disturbance that occurred Monday night in the City of Waverly.
Authorities report that around 8:30 PM, deputies were dispatched to an address on Dale Circle Southwest in Waverly for a report of the domestic incident that reportedly involved a firearm.
Upon arrival, deputies were advised that an adult male had left the residence and was in possession of a firearm. Deputies searched the area on foot and with the assistance of the Wright County Sheriff’s Office drone unit, as well as a State Patrol helicopter.
Officials say the reported firearm involved and other personal items were recovered by deputies.
In a statement from the Sheriff’s Department, officials reported that as of mid-afternoon on Wednesday, the male suspect was still at large but was not believed to be in the Waverly area. Authorities are continuing the investigation, and report that they don’t believe there is any threat to the public.
