SOAR Regional Arts will be offering a unique opportunity for residents and visitors to Wright County to experience a concert-version performance of the powerful rock opera “Jesus Christ Superstar” over the next two weekends.
The organization will perform the music from the classic Andrew Lloyd Weber and Tim Rice production live at the St. Michael Town Center Lions Pavilion. The musical will be performed in its entirety, complete with a live band and chorus, along with individual vocalists.
A live painter will create a large-scale painting during the performance. The completed works from each performance will be auctioned later at SOAR’s annual silent auction in December.
Performances this weekend will be tonight (Friday) at 6:30 PM, and Saturday and Sunday afternoons at 2 PM. Next weekend, performances will be held Friday, September 19th and Saturday, September 20th at 6:30 PM, with a final performance Sunday, September 21st at 2 PM.
Admission is free. SOAR suggests a 10 dollar-per-person donation to support its mission.
