A longtime District 877 School Board Member was officially recognized in recent days as a Minnesota All-State School Board Member.

Sue Lee was honored at an award ceremony during the annual conference of the MN School Boards Association in Minneapolis.

Lee was recognized as one of just seven All-State Board Members out of more than 24-hundred school board members statewide.

Lee did not seek re-election last November after 54 years of continuous service to the BHM School Community, serving 35 years as a teacher, and 19 years as a school board member. She joined Robert Harri and Rolf Mohwinkel as the only other District 877 School Board members to receive the presigious honor.

MSBA Executive Director Kirk Schneidawind said…”The All-State School Board represents the highest example of board service.” He added…”These are school board members who are committed to student achievement, determined to build support for their local schools and unwavering in their pursuit of what’s best for students.”

Officials say that among other qualities, All-State School Board Award winners must have demonstrated strong leadership, communication skills, visionary thinking and concerns for students, staff and taxpayers.
