If you have youngsters on your holiday gift list this year, doctors remind you of some common toy dangers.
UW – Health pediatrician Dr. Megan Yanny says choking or suffocation remain the biggest concerns…
“If small or loose pieces are swallowed or inhaled, as these can cause dangerous blockages in a child’s airway or intestines, the group most vulnerable to these injuries is young children under age 4 and especially under age 1, they are most likely to put small things in their mouth or accidentally swallow pieces of toys.”
A new report entitled “Trouble in Toyland” found at least 150,000 toy-related deaths and emergency room visits happen each year in the U-S among children ages 14 and younger.
