Two Children Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash Tuesday Afternoon in Monticello

Two children were injured in a two-vehicle traffic crash late Tuesday afternoon in the City of Monticello. The State Patrol reports the crash happened shortly after 4 PM at the intersection of Highway 25 and Chelsea Road in Monticello.

Officials say a Chevy pickup and a Mazda mini-van were both southbound on Highway 25 when they collided at the intersection with Chelsea Road.

A 7-year-old female from Princeton who was a passenger in the mini-van sustained non-life threatening injuries and was treated at the CentraCare Hospital in Monticello, while a 6-year-old female had minor injuries that did not require hospital treatment. The driver of the mini-van, 27-year-old Megan Dunham, and a 2-year-old male passenger, both from Princeton, were not injured.

The driver of the pickup, 62-year-old Daniel Casey of Big Lake, was not injured.

CentraCare Ambulance assisted State Troopers at the scene.
