Snowy conditions and icy roads were responsible for dozens of traffic crashes throughout the day in our region on Wednesday.
Wednesday afternoon, two drivers were injured in a two-vehicle crash in neighboring Meeker County.
The State Patrol reports that around 3:15 PM, a passenger vehicle and an SUV collided on Highway 12 in Litchfield Township.
Officials say a Subaru Outback was eastbound, while a Ford Explorer was westbound when the vehicles collided near Milepost 95.
The driver of the Subaru, 46-year-old Crystle Daigle of Kandiyohi, sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to the CentraCare Hospital in Willmar. The driver of the Ford SUV, 35-year-old Jenna Grotto of Grove City, was taken to the Meeker Memorial Hospital in Litchfield for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Two youngsters in the SUV, ages 8 and 2, were not injured.
The Litchfield Fire Department and Rescue Team, the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office, and ambulance teams from Cosmos, Atwater, and Mayo Ambulance assisted at the scene.
