Two Killed in Motorcycle vs. Pickup Truck Crash Friday in Clearwater

Two residents of our region died when the motorcycle they were riding collided with a pickup truck early Friday afternoon in Clearwater.

The State Patrol reports that around 12:45 PM Friday, a pickup truck was turning left to go north on Highway 24 from the 179th Street Northwest intersection when it collided with the motorcycle that was southbound on Highway 24. The vehicles collided at the intersection with the diesel lot at the Kwik Trip store just south of the freeway interchange in Clearwater.

Killed in the crash was the driver of the motorcycle, 50-year-old Chad Eskelson, and a passenger, 46-year-old Vicki Nieman, both of Clear Lake. Authorities say neither of the motorcyclists were wearing a helmet.

The driver of the pickup, 28-year-old Chad Brambrink, and a passenger, 27-year-old Adam Searcy, both of South Haven, both escaped injury.

The Wright County Sheriff’s Office, and the Clearwater Fire Department and Ambulance assisted at the scene.
