The USDA has released a five-point plan to address highly pathogenic avian influenza, or HPAI.
Ashley Kohls, Executive Director of the Minnesota Turkey Growers Association, headquartered in Buffalo, says both turkey producers and growers of other poultry will benefit from USDA’s biosecurity investments…
“Things like working with U.S. Fish and Wildlife for their bio-security assessments and other angles are all things that the turkey industry in Minnesota has already done. So continuing funding for those programs to expand those programs is definitely welcomed.”
Kohls says she’s also looking forward to continued discussion about using HPAI vaccines.
