(Wright County Board Chair – Darek Vetsch)
The Wright County Board of Commissioners met this week for this first time in 2026. The board had a brief, but important agenda that sets the stage for action in the new year.
The first order of business was to nominate and vote on a Board Chair for the year. Once again this year, County Commissioner Darek Vetsch was nominated and unanimously elected to serve another year as the County Board Chair. 2026 will be the fourth consecutive year that Vetsch will serve as the Board Chair.
Board members voted 3 to 2 to elect Commissioner Nadine Schoen as the Vice Chair for 2026.
In other action, commissioners unanimously passed previously discussed committee assignments for the coming year.
