Governor Tim Walz will be joining hundreds of thousands of Minnesotans this weekend for the Minnesota firearms deer hunting opener.
He says the most important thing for sportspersons to remember is safety…
“Be safe out there folks. Make sure you know what you’re shooting at. You’ll hear this again. Make sure you know what your backdrop is. Make sure you’re thinking when you get into those stands, in and out, the accidents from falling out of a deer stand, it does happen. We just want to make sure this is a safe opener and a safe season.”
The DNR says some 200,000 deer hunting licenses have been sold for the season.
