MnDOT says freeway work is now underway in Wright County on the I-94 Gap project between Monticello and Albertville.
Work began April 7th during overnight hours as crews set up the work zone, including installation of concrete barriers.

According to MnDOT’s project website, two-lane traffic each way is now being diverted to the eastbound lanes of traffic. Expansion of the westbound lanes of traffic will take place in mid-November. Officials say the project will shift the expansion of the eastbound lanes in the spring of 2026.
