Wright County Area High School Scores for the Week of Mon. Jan. 27th-Sat. Feb. 1st.

Monday, Jan. 27th.

Girls Basketball.

Glencoe Silver Lake 64, Annandale 49. Mylea Monahan (23 points, 8 Rebounds.), and Brooke Micolichek(20 points, 12 rebounds.), led the Panthers in their comeback win over the Cards, while Ally Purcell scored 20 for Annandale.

Mylea Monahan, above, who also plays for North Tartan during the AAU season, led the Panthers to a win over the Cards on Monday.

Boys Basketball.

Glencoe Silver Lake 68, Annandale 53. The combination of Lincoln Busse (22 points,) and Ethan Sonju (21 points) were too much for the Cards on Monday night. Ben Walter led Annandale in scoring with 20 points.

Tuesday, Jan. 28th.

Boys Basketball.

Wayzata 71, STMA 40. The Trojans pulled away in the second half as four players scored in double figures for Wayzata, led by Nolan Anderson with 20. Jack Thelen was the top scorer for the Knights with 14.

Wayzata, #1 in the state, has soared past the competition again this year, including an emphatic win over the Knights on Tuesday.

Monticello 101, Chisago Lakes 55. Carson Deibele (23 points) and Rhys Nebben (19), combined for 42 points in the Magic’s blowout win over the Wildcats.

Edina 79, Buffalo 74. Despite 22 points from Jordy Sorenson, the Bison came up just short on the road at Edina.

Norwood Young America 53, Rockford 52. Harrison Edwards netted 22 points for the Rockets in the loss.

Litchfield 62, Annandale 58. The Dragons rallied from ten down late to beat the Cards at home.

Girls Basketball.

Buffalo 62, Edina 57. Brianna Eggers (18 points), Alayna Feekes (17) and Haley Rohlin (11), combined for 46 of the 62 Bison points to lead Buffalo to the home win.

Wayzata 75, STMA 57. The Knights lost to #5 Wayzata on Tuesday night at Wayzata, as Katie Kelzenberg scored 24 points in the Trojans win. Cail Jahnke scored 24 for the Knights.

Delano 76, Hutch 41. Five players scored in double figures, led by Abbie Pietila with 17 for Delano.

Monticello 76, Chisago Lakes 29.

Dassel-Cokato 78, Howard Lake WW 71.

Annandale 48, Litchfield 38.

Girls Hockey.

Edina 2, North Wright County 1. Danika Weiland tied the game in the second period for the River Hawks, but Cate McCoy won it for Edina at the 4:39 mark of overtime, as the #2AA Hornets survived an upset bid by NWC on Tuesday night.

Buffalo 3, Hopkins 0. Ella Bruns had a goal and an assist for the Bison, while Ava Jovan stopped all 17 shots she faced in the nets.

Holy Family 7, Delano 1.

Boys Hockey.

Monticello 5, Princeton 3. Liam O’ Donnell scored two goals and added an assist in the Moose win on Tuesday.

Sartell 5, STMA 4. Devin Tucker won it for the Sabers at the 2:30 mark of overtime on Tuesday. Easton Monahan briefly tied the game for the Knights at the 15:19 mark of the third period, one of two goals on the night for Monahan.

Mound 6, Litchfield DC 5.

Wed., Jan. 29th.

Girls Hockey.

Buffalo 2, Wayzata 1. Linnea Preugschas scored the game winning goal in overtime for the Bison as they improved to 4-4 in the Lake Conference with eight points, which is good enough for third place.

Thursday, Jan. 30th.

Gymnastics.

Monticello 144.3, Becker 140.2. Newly minted #1A Monticello won at home on Thursday night over the Bulldogs. Lauren Hanson, and Alanna Beckland went one and two in the all-around for the Magic.

Hopkins 140.15, Buffalo 137.20. MyahSymone Britt from Hopkins took the all-around title with a score of 37.12 as the Royals defeated the Bison on Thursday. The good news for Buffalo, is that it was their highest score of the year.

Girls Hockey.

Delano 4, Buffalo 2. The Tigers jumped out on the Bison by scoring three goals in the first period and held on for the win. McKenzie Perry, and Kayleigh Olson both scored two goals and had an assist in the Tigers win. The Bison outshot the Tigers, 29-23, but Savanna Geyen stopped 27 shots for Delano.

Boys Hockey.

Litchfield DC 6, New Ulm 3. After falling behind 3-1 in the first period, the Dragons scored the next five goals and pulled away for the win. Anton Haataja scored two goals and had an assist for the Dragons.

LDC, above in white, rallied to defeat New Ulm on Thursday night.

Eden Prairie 5, STMA 2.

Wrestling.

STMA 62, Buffalo 9.

Annandale/ML 46, Litchfield DC 24.

Delano lost both its matches in a tri to Mound 41-31, and Tri City United, 38-35.

Friday, Jan. 31st.

Girls Basketball.

New London Spicer 53, Annandale 57. The Cards almost pulled the upset at #3AA NLS on Friday night, but the Wildcats held off the Cards despite 33 points from Julia Bishop.

Monticello 83, Cambridge-Isanti 19. Five players scored in double figures led by Samantha Voll (22) and Aubry Kreinke (16), which nearly double the total points for the whole Bluejackets team.

Delano 69, Jordan 66. The Tigers jumped out to an eleven-point halftime lead, before holding of Jordan on Friday night. Abby Pietila led all scorers with 31 for the Tigers.

Glencoe SL 76, Howard Lake WW 34.

Rockford 74, Blake 73.

Boys Basketball.

Annandale 74, New London Spicer 53. Colton Purcell scored sixteen of his twenty-one points in the second half as the Cards breezed past the Wildcats.

Monticello 83, Cambridge-Isanti 66. Rhys Nebben(26) and Braydon Dollard (24) combined for fifty points in the Magic win.
