Friday, May 16th.

Boys Lacrosse.

Buffalo 9, STMA 6. Cooper Cebulla from Buffalo picked up our KRWC DQ player of the game in the Bison’s rivalry win over the Knights.

Girls Lacrosse.

STMA 12, Elk River 11. Danica Weiland netted six goals and added an assist in the Knights win.

Softball. (Still Regular Season.)

Monticello 11, Zimmerman 7. Maggie Benton went 3-4 with a double and two RBI’s as the Magic outscored the Thunder on Friday.

Rockford 20, Howard Lake WW 0.

Baseball.

Hopkins 8, STMA 7.

Boys Volleyball.

Lakeville South Invite.

STMA went 2-0 on the opening night of the tournament with wins over Rochester Mayo and Apple Valley. Nick Michals had thirty-one assists combined in the two wins.

Saturday, May 17th.

True Team State Track and Field meet at Stillwater.

The STMA boys and girls, along with Rockford and Delano had big days at the True Team state meet this past weekend. Let’s take a look at the top performers from these schools!

STMA Boys:

Sienna Clare, Long Jump(3rd.)
Eva Huotari, Pole Vault(6th.)
4×100, 4×800, and 4×400 all took 5th, while the 4×200 was 6th.

Sienna Clare, Delano, above, took third in the True Team State Track and Field meet in the long jump.

Baseball. 

Delano won the Dick Traen wood bat tournament at Delano by sweeping past Zimmerman and Orono by 8-0, and 10-4 scores.

Monticello 5, Totino-Grace 3. The Magic picked up a big section win over the Eagles on Saturday by scoring two runs in the bottom of the sixth to take the lead for good. Dom Marschel went 2-3 at the plate, including a double.

Perham 2, Rockford 1. Patrick Binnabose struck out 13 in the loss for Rockford.

Softball (Still regular season.)

Delano 18, Holy Family 4. Hanna Vandeputte had a big day at the plate going 3-5 with two doubles and five RBIs.

Girls Lacrosse.

Delano 12, Waconia 3. Gracie Moonen scored four goals and added an assist as Delano shutout the Wildcats in the second half, 7-0.

Buffalo 23, Big Lake 5. Hattie Toussaint (5), Adellita Nelson (4) and Danicka Eng (4), combined for thirteen goals in the Bison rout.

Boys Lacrosse.

Delano 10, Waconia 8. Joe McCabe scored seven goals in the Tigers win.

Boys Volleyball.

STMA went 1-2 in the second day of the Lakeville South Tournament, picking up a win over Twin Cities Academy.

The STMA Boys Volleyball team, above, is ranked #8 in the state going into Sections.

Mound/Delano/Orono, went 2-2 at their invite at Mound, with victories over Austin and Southwest Christian.

Monday, May 19th.

Softball Section Playoffs.

5AA.

Annandale 10, Watertown Mayer 0. The Cards advanced with a shutout win over the Royals on Monday.

Howard Lake WW 11, Maple Lake 1. The Lakers kept their season alive, while the Irish season came to an end with HLWW’s win on Monday.

8AAAA.

Elk River 11, Buffalo 2. The Elks eliminated the Bison with a play in win on Monday at Elk River. Avery Bjorklund went 2-3 with an RBI at the plate for the Bison in the loss.

Boys Lacrosse.

STMA 9, Sartell 8.

Baseball. (Still regular season.)

Big Lake 4, Monticello 4. Rain, and thunder interuppted this game in the 6th, so the Hornets and Magic had to settle for a tie-on Monday. Carson Diebele, struck out eleven batters in the game for Monti.

Watertown-Mayer 4, Annandale 0.

Tuesday, May 20th.

Boys Volleyball.

Orono/Mound/Delano 3, Southwest Christian 2. On a game heard right here on AM1360 KRWC, the Whitehawk’s pulled out the close win by winning the final two sets, 25-21, and 15-13. Overall, the Whitehawk’s outscored the Stars by just one point, 110-109.

STMA 3, Edina 0. Dylan Meehen led the Knights with seven kills in the three-game sweep.

Girls Lacrosse.

Buffalo 12, Hopkins 8. Bailey Mischke scored four goals and added an assist in the Bison win.

Delano 10, Monticello 5. Addilyn Dietman led the Tigers with four goals and one assist.

Boys Lacrosse.

Delano 11, Monticello 9. Joe McCabe netted four goals in the Tigers win.

Buffalo 12, Hopkins 8. Coy Meyer was the top player in the game with Buffalo, scoring four goals and adding an assist.

Wed, May 21st.

Boys Golf.

Despite terrible conditions, the Delano Tigers boys golf team shot a tournament record 375 as they won their eighth Pioneer Cup title in nine years on Wednesday. Connor Oja tied for second overall with a +3, 75.

Delano, above, won the Pioneer Cup in Boys Golf for the eighth time in nine tries yesterday.

Boys Lacrosse.

Hill Murray 13, STMA 12. Jackson Murphy has a monster game for the Pioneers scoring five goals and dishing out four assists as Hill Murray outscored the Knights 4-1 in the last period to pull out the victory.
