Friday, January 30th.
Boys Basketball.
Wayzata 97, Buffalo 96. The #1AAAA Trojans jumped out to a 21-5 lead over the #3AAAA Bison on the road and it looked like another blowout win for the Trojans over Buffalo. The Trojans handed the Bison their only loss of the year, 91-60 in their first matchup, but this time the Bison wouldn’t go away. In fact, the Bison led by five late, but Christian Wiggins who is headed to Iowa St. next year hit a jumper to tie it at the end of regulation, then scored the game winning layup with a second left in overtime as the Trojans escaped Buffalo with the win. Wiggins finished with 45 points, while Buffalo had huge nights from Eli Hegle (30 points.), Thomas Jordan (26) and Matthew Jordan (24).

Glencoe SL 85, Howard Lake WW 70. The Lakers jumped out to a seven-point halftime lead, but the Panthers outscored HLWW by 22 points in the second half to pull away for the victory. Alex Stueven (28 points), and Adam Marquardt (20) were the top scorers for HLWW.
Rockford 68, Jordan 49. Ethan Robran scored 21 points in the Rockets win.

Girls Basketball.
Monticello 62, Becker 47. Samantha Voll scored 26 points and added 6 rebounds and 3 assist’s as the Magic pulled away from the Bulldogs late.
Glencoe Silver Lake 72, Howard Lake WW 55. Brooke Mickolichek had a monster game with 30 points and 14 rebounds in the Panthers win.

Saturday, January 31st.
Gymnastics.
Monticello took home the state championship at the True Team state meet in Minnetonka with a score of 180.93. Lakeville South was second with a score of 175.5, while Edina was third with a score of 173.0. STMA finished 9th with a score of 170.2

Annandale took second place at the Nationals in Orlando, Florida on Saturday.

Delano 5, Holy Family 4. Daniel Halonen remained red hot with two goals and two assists as the Tigers held off a late rally by the home team Fire on Saturday.
Monticello 2, Minneapolis 1. Cohen Kase scored the game winning goal in the second period for the Moose.
Wayzata 1, Buffalo 0. Logan Preugchas was fantastic in the nets, stopping 29 of 30 shots, but it was the Trojans who lit the lamp first in overtime to pull out the home win.
Hutch 2, Litchfield DC 1. Tripp McCann scored the game tying goal at the 16:37 mark for the Dragons, but the Tigers scored in overtime to take the win.
Girls Hockey.
Litchfield DC 1, Mankato West 1. Elaine Niemela scored the game tying goal in the second half and Gwen Aho stopped 43 of 44 shots for the Dragons in the tie.

Delano 71, Becker 47. Addie Iverson had a double double with 25 points and 14 rebounds in the Tigers win.
Chanhassen 72, STMA 64. Cail Jahnke was the top scorer for the Knights with 25 points.
Boys Basketball.
Rockford 75, Eagle Ridge 64. Duncan McClellan scored 18 points in the Rockets win.
Monticello 69, Elk River 53. The Magic jumped out to a 35-10 halftime lead and rolled from there. Carson Deibele was the top scorer for the Magic with 21 points.
Dassel-Cokato 86, New London Spicer 72.
Chanhassen 82, STMA 52. Braylon Bohm scored 19 in the loss for the Knights.
Monday, Feb. 2nd.
Boys Basketball.
Buffalo 75, Washburn 63. Matthew Jordan (26 points) and Eli Hegle (21) were the top scorers for Buffalo in their road win.
Annandale 75, Norwood YA 62. Colton Purcell poured in 34 points as the Cards won on the road.
Delano 78, Rocori 51. Elijah Engesser scored 23 points to lead the Tigers over Rocori on Monday night.

Hopkins 90, STMA 47. Jayden Moore was rolling 5’s on Monday with 17 points, 5 boards, 5 steals and 5 assists as the Royals cruised past the Knights.

Paynesville 62, Maple Lake 43. Brooklyn Fobbe scored 13 points in the loss for the Irish.

Maple Grove 6, STMA 2. The Crimson scored four goals in the second period and that was the difference in the game. Tanner Esterberg and Braylon Maciej scored for the Knights.
Boys Swim and Dive.
Buffalo defeated Maple Grove, 101-84 on Monday to improve to 6-4 overall and 3-4 in the Lake. If Buffalo defeats Dassel-Cokato on Thursday, they will tie for their most wins in a season for the second straight year.

Delano 6, Southwest Christian 0. Brody Geislinger netted two goals and added two assists in the Tigers shutout win.
Boys Basketball.
Watertown Mayer 71, Rockford 68. The Rockets jumped out to a 12-point halftime lead, but the Royals came back in the second half to pull out the victory. Mason Mooney led the Rockets with 22 points.

Section 3A Quarterfinals.
#5 Waconia 3, #4 Delano 2. The Wildcats jumped out to a 3-0 lead, but Kaelyn Wittwer and Alaina Pettit cut the deficit to one for Delano, but Waconia held on to the lead and advanced to the semifinals.

Maple Grove 66, STMA 61. Kate Holmquist scored 22 points as the Crimson escaped STMA with the road win on Wednesday night.

Eden Prairie 73, Buffalo 70. The Eagles roared out to a 40-18 lead at the half, but it was all Buffalo in the second half, but in the end the Eagles held on to the home win by hitting some late free throws. Eli Hegle was the top scorer for Buffalo with 21 points.

Section 8AA Quarterfinals.
#3 Alexandria 2, #6 Buffalo 1. Violet Huddy tied the game in the second period for Buffalo, but the Cards lit the lamp in the second overtime to escape with a first-round win.

Section 2A Quarterfinals.
River Lakes 3, Litchfield DC 1. Lydia Schultz gave the Dragons a 1-0 lead in the first period, but River Lakes scored the final three goals of the night and advanced to the Section finals.

Monticello 5, Cambridge-Isanti 1. Ashton Stoll had a hat trick in the Moose win on Thursday night.
