Wright County Area HS Scores for the Week of Mon. 5/5-Sat. 5/10.

Monday, May 5th.

Softball.

STMA 6, Minnetonka 5. Last season Callan Wagner hit a walk off home run in the bottom of the 8th to lift the Knights over the Skippers, this season history repeated itself! Minnetonka jumped out to a 3-1 lead, but Kendra Behrens hit a two-run home run to right to tie it, before Amanda Odlund gave the Knights a two-run lead with a two-run home run in the fifth. The 12-1, #9AAAA Skippers scored two in the top of the seventh to send it too extras. Then in the bottom of the eighth, Callan Wagner stepped up to the plate and again walked off Minnetonka with a solo shot with one out as the Knights improved to 8-4, it was Wagner’s second home run of the year, and she also picked up the win in relief.

The Knights hit three home runs on Monday. Hitting home runs from left to right above, Amanda Odlund, Kendra Behrens, and Callan Wagner.

Delano 8, Princeton 1.

Elk River 5, Buffalo 2. Kenley Bechtold gave up only one run through five innings for the Bison, but the Elk rallied late to take home the win.

Rockford 2, Dassel-Cokato 1.

Sartell 3, Monticello 1.

Baseball.

Rockford 6, Dassel-Cokato 4. The Rockets jumped out to a 5-0 lead and held on late to defeat the Chargers. Charles Doughty led Rockford by going 3-4 at the plate with two RBIs.

Rockford, above, improved to 12-1 with a 6-4 win over the Chargers on Monday.

STMA 11, Elk River 6. Ashton Cranks, lived up to his name, with two doubles and four RBIs in the Knights win.

Buffalo 11, Coon Rapids 0.

Tuesday, May 6th.

Girls Lacrosse.

Edina 10, Buffalo 7. Hattie Toussaint picked up her 100th career goal in the Bison loss.

Delano 15, Becker 5. The Tigers erupted for seven first quarter goals and breezed the win over the Bulldogs. Addilyn Dietman scored five goals and added an assist for Delano.

Chisago Lakes 18, Monticello 3.

Wayzata 14, STMA 8.

Boys Lacrosse.

Delano 21, Becker 8.

Chisago Lakes 13, Monticello 8.

Baseball.

Princeton 2, Monticello 1. The Tigers scored two in the first and it held up over seven as Princeton defeated Monticello. Gavin Gardner picked up the tough luck loss, despite only giving up two runs in five innings.

Annandale 8, Dassel-Cokato 5.

Delano 14, Mound 1.

New London Spicer swept Howard Lake WW, 9-6, and 4-2.

Softball.

STMA 11, Anoka 4. Hailey Rech went 3-4 and hit a three-run home run in the Knights win. It was the Knights fourth home run in their last two games.

Rockford swept Glencoe Silver Lake, 8-1, and 11-0.

Annandale 12, Watertown Mayer 2.

Monticello 6, Princeton 1. Kiana Pegues went 2-4 with two RBIs for the Magic.

Boys Tennis.

Monticello 6, North Branch 1. Wyatt Hanson, Caleb Kalnbach, and Lucas Anderson picked up wins at singles for the Magic while the combo of Ethan Kuhn/Levi Berning, Matteus Sundine/Micah Coalwell, and Kian Gustafson/Camden Fierabend won in doubles.

Girls Golf.

Monticello took first at the Pebble Creek Invite, while Kali Hanson from Chisago Lakes was the medalist with a score of 81. Phoebe Figenshau from Monti was one stroke back with an 82.

Delano took third out of ten teams at the Mound invite.

Wed, May 7th.

Track and Field (True Team Sections.)

Delano advanced to true team state in girls track and field, winning their section. The Tigers will compete at True Team State on Saturday, May 17th at Eden Prairie HS.

Both the Monticello Boys and Girls Track Teams finished 5th at the Section 8AAA True Team Sections. Lauren Hanson from Monti, finished first in the Triple Jump, breaking a school record set in 2012 with a leap of 36’11.5. It was the fourth school record broken this year by the Girls Team.

The Annandale boys team finished 6th, while the Girls finished 5th at the 5AA True Team Sections. Becker took home first on the boy’s side, with Rocori winning on the girl’s side.

Adapted Softball.

Southern Stars 13, Buffalo/Monti/STMA 2. The Southern Stars won a state qualifier on the road on Wed. defeating the Coyotes to advance to state.

Buffalo/STMA/Monticello, above on defense, hosted a state qualifier in Adapted Softball on Wed afternoon at Buffalo HS.

Baseball.

Howard Lake WW 14, Watertown Mayer 10.

Edina 2, STMA 1.

Minnetonka 10, Buffalo 0.

Softball.

Hopkins 7, Buffalo 6. MaKenna Morrell went 2-4 with three RBIs in the loss for Buffalo.

STMA 14, Centennial 2.

Howard Lake WW 11, Litchfield 0.

Thursday, May 8th.

Baseball.

Rockford sweeps Litchfield in double header, 13-0 and 3-2. Patrick Binnebose had a monster day for the Rockets going 5-7 at the plate with 3 doubles and six RBI’s! Binnebose also throw a one hit shutout, striking out 12 in the first game for Rockford.

Glencoe Silver Lake swept DC in a doubleheader. In the first game Jackson Yanke struck out five over three innings in the loss for DC.

Monticello 2, Becker 0. Carson Deibele struck out six and threw a one hitter for the Magic.

Delano 10, Jordan 5.

New London Spicer swept Annandale, 4-0 and 7-2.

Howard Lake WW 6, LeSeaur Henderson 4.

Softball.

Becker 4, Monticello 1. Josi Ordorff hit three doubles and drove in the only run for the Magic on Thursday.

Dassel-Cokato swept GSL, 8-0 and 17-6.

Rockford won two from Litchfield, 9-3, and 12-3.

Annandale picked up a sweep as well over New London Spicer, 4-0 and 7-2.

Eden Prairie 6, Buffalo 0.

Delano 17, Hutch 3. Olivia Thomas netted four goals and added two assists in the Delano win.

Wayzata 11, Buffalo 8.

Moorhead 8, STMA 7. Piper Peterson scored five goals in the Knights loss.

Boys Lacrosse.

Wayzata 12, Buffalo 6. Will Webber scored three goals and added an assist in the Bison loss.
