The Lakers were making their first ever state tournament appearance on Thursday afternoon at the Grand Casino Arena, although they didn’t win, they also didn’t disappoint, as they took #2 seed Albany to the limit. Albany took the third set, but in the fourth set the Huskies needed just one more point to advance, but it never came as the Lakers scored the final three and took the fourth set, 26-24. In the fifth set the Huskies jumped out to a big lead, and despite a nice rally, the Lakers came up short, 15-9. Alaina Koch led the Lakers with 16 kills, while Isabell Scheuch added 14 kills for HLWW. Kamryn Stueven had 42 assist’s in the match for HLWW, while Madison Graczyk added 16 digs.
