The Wright County Board of Commissioners adopted a resolution in recent days honoring the Matter Family Farm of Delano as the 2025 Wright County Farm Family of the Year.
Joseph Matter cleared the first field to start the Matter Farms in 1856. Today, Paul and Aumori and their sons, Ben and Alex are the 7th generation of the family to farm the same land. Over the decades, the property has expanded into multiple uses, and is now best known for its maple syrup.

In addition to recognition from the County Board, the Matter family will also be honored at the Wright County Fair, and later at FarmFest.
The Farm Family Recognition Program has been honoring agribusiness families in Wright County since 1979.
