Two state lawmakers from Wright County will be among three Minnesota House members to testify today in Washington, D-C in front of the U-S House Oversight Committee.

(State Rep. Marion Rarick – Maple Lake)

(State Rep. Walter Hudson – Albertville)
State Representatives Marion Rarick of Maple Lake and Walter Hudson of Albertville, members of the House Fraud Prevention Committee, will join Committee Chair, Representative Kristin Robbins of Maple Grove, who is also an announced GOP gubernatorial candidate…
“I want them to understand the scope of the fraud. I think we in Minnesota are more aware of sort of colossal nature of it but I think for the national audience they’re just starting to become aware of it. So understanding the scope and then looking at the red flags that we’ve identified that occur over and over in these programs.”

(State Rep. Kristin Robbins – Maple Grove)
Minnesota 6th District Congressman Tom Emmer of Delano, the Republican Majority Whip in the U-S House, is also expected to attend the session.
The hearings come during a week that has already seen Minnesota Governor Tim Walz drop out of the race for a third term as governor, largely because of the investigations into fraud in the handling of funds in the form of grants and other distribution through the Department of Human Services.
Tuesday, early results from an audit allege money mismanagement, and potential doctoring of documents by state employees, possibly to hide inconsistencies in various reports.
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and State Attorney General Keith Ellison have been requested to, but so far have not been subpoenaed to testify in further hearings on February 10th.
