Wright County’s jobless rate began 2025 in familiar territory.
The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development recently released the January 2025 unemployment data that shows that Wright County’s non-seasonally adjusted jobless rate was 3.8 percent. While that was up from 2.9 percent in December and November of ’24, that rate was very similar to the January rates over the previous three years.
The January 2024 rate in Wright County was 3.7 percent, while January 2023’s rate was 3.9 percent, and the 2022 rate to begin the year was 3.6 percent.
While it’s unclear what 2025 will bring regarding local unemployment numbers, Wright County has enjoyed some low and generally stable unemployment over the last three years. Statistics show that there were 6 months that local jobless numbers were under 3 percent in 2024 and 2023, while there were 9 months of unemployment under 3 percent in 2022.
Minnesota’s seasonally-adjusted unemployment in January was an even 3 percent, unchanged from the previous 3 months, while the U-S seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate was an even 4 percent, down a tenth of a point from December 2024.
