Wright County’s jobless numbers closed out 2024 unchanged from November.
The latest numbers from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development show that Wright County’s non-seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in December was 2.9 percent, unchanged from November, marking the fourth consecutive month under 3 percent.
The 2.9 percent rate in December 2024 was a tenth of a point higher than the same month a year earlier, and was down from the 3.3 percent jobless rate of December of ’23.
Wright County’s highest unemployment last year was in February at 4.1 percent, with the lowest rate measured in October at 2.5 percent.
In 2023, the highest unemployment in Wright County was also in February at an even 4 percent, while 2023’s lowest jobless numbers were in November at 1.8 percent.
Minnesota’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in December was 3.3 percent, down from 3.5 percent in November, while the seasonally adjusted U-S unemployment rate was 4.1 percent, down from 4.2 percent in November.
