10 young women were recently named as this year’s finalists for the Princess Kay of the Milky Way.
Wright County Dairy Princess Malorie Thorson of Waverly was selected as one of this year’s finalists.
To be selected as a finalist for Princess Kay, each candidate applied, participated in a mock interview, and delivered a speech. The finalists are judged on their communication skills, enthusiasm for promoting dairy, and their general knowledge of the dairy industry.
Of the 10 finalists for 2025, five of them are from Central Minnesota. The other finalists from our region are Heidi Montag of Sauk Rapids, representing Benton County, April Klaphake of Sauk Centre, representing Stearns County, Paige Frenchick of Manannah, representing Meeker County, and Haylie Wielenberg of Long Prairie, representing Todd County.
The 72nd Princess Kay of the Milky Way of the Milky Way will be crowned the day before the start of the Minnesota State Fair.
