Customer members of the Wright-Hennepin Cooperative Electric Association are receiving capital credit refunds during the holiday season.
Wright-Hennepin’s Board of Directors approved the capital credit refund of 2.74 million dollars. The refund is based on energy purchased during 2005 and portions of 2024. Additionally, Great River Energy, one of Wright-Hennepin’s power suppliers, is also refunding some 298 thousand dollars based on energy purchased in 1996 and a portion of 1997. Basin Electric Power Cooperative, another Wright-Hennepin power supplier, will return approximately 319 thousand dollars based on energy purchased in 2008.
Officials say Wright-Hennepin has returned capital credit checks to members for 45 consecutive years.
