Wright-Hennepin Cooperative Electric Association members who participate in Operation Round-Up rounded out 2025 by donating grants totaling more than 37 thousand dollars to local organizations.
Under the ORU program, participants allow their electric bills to be rounded up to the nearest dollar. The rounded amount is then used for donations to support local programs.
Among the organizations awarded funds in December were WeCan for funds to support emergency assistance programs, Lake Ridge Care Center in Buffalo for the purchase of five power lifts and other furnishings, as well as the Children’s Home Society of Minnesota, and the Pay It Forward Fund.
Approximately 90 percent of Wright-Hennepin’s members participate in the Operation Round-Up program. The program has awarded more than $5.4 million dollars since it began in 1994.
