Wright-Hennepin Cooperative Electric Association members who participate in Operation Round Up (ORU) donated some $39,400 in the month of December.
ORU participatnts volunteer to allow their electric bills to be rounded up to the nearest dollar. The rounded amount is then used for donations supporting local programs.
Among the many organizations receiving funds included the Society of St. Vincent de Paul of St. Michael-Albertville, the Children’s Home Society of Minnesota, YMCA Camp Ihduhapi, the Otsego Lions Gifts Anonymous, and the Friends of the Monticello Library.
Wright-Hennepin’s Operation Round Up has awarded more than $5.1 million since it began in 1994.
