Authorities say one person was killed, and another was critically injured when a small plane crashed late Sunday afternoon at the Buffalo Municipal Airport.
The Buffalo Police Department confirms that there were two adult male occupants in the aircraft at the time of the crash. One of the men was taken from the scene in critical condition, while the other was pronounced deceased. The names of the men have not yet been released pending notification of family.
The Buffalo Police Department was dispatched to the airport on County Road 134 in Buffalo shortly after 4 PM Sunday. Crews with the Buffalo Fire Department were also dispatched to the scene.
The FAA said in an earlier statement that a replica Piper aircraft crashed while apparently attempting to depart the airport.
The FAA along with the National Transportation Safety Board are heading up the ongoing investigation.
