Sen. Bruce Anderson Supports Republican Proposals to Trim State Spending

State Senator Bruce Anderson of Buffalo is among Minnesota Senate Republicans supporting a plan to cut what they say would be “…at least 600 million dollars in wasteful or unnecessary spending” identified in the state budget.

Senator Anderson said in a news release that much of the proposed savings would come from cuts in specific areas of transportation spending, particularly on commuter and light rail projects. Other cuts would come in state spending on benefits for undocumented non-citizens. The Senate GOP proposal also includes a series of reforms aimed at improving government accountability and preventing future wasteful spending.

The senator outlined a busy week of visits in St. Paul last week, including meetings with constituents during Disability Services Day at the Capitol.
